Lauren Costello is a START Program Fellow!

🎉 Congratulations to PhD student Lauren Costello on being named a 2026 START Program Fellow!!

The START Program prepares early-career researchers to work with two landmark longitudinal studies of brain development: the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study and the Healthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) Study. The program provides mentorship, advanced analytical training, and access to nationally representative datasets.

As one of just 19 fellows selected nationwide from a highly competitive applicant pool, Lauren will use these large-scale datasets to advance her research on the biological and behavioral consequences of early adversity, the intergenerational transmission of stress and trauma, and how early-life experiences shape neurodevelopment and mental health during critical periods of brain development.

We are so proud of Lauren and can't wait to see the important work she does through this program! 💙
