  • The BEAN Study

    Are you between 22-38 weeks pregnant in the Boston metro area?
    You may be able to participate in the “Bridging Emotions and Nutrition in Pregnancy” (BEAN) Study.
    To help us understand how stress affects nutrition in pregnancy.

Where does research take place?

Some studies are online, some take place in your home, and others happen in our lab at Northeastern University’s ISEC Building at 805 Columbus Avenue in Boston. It’s easy to get to us - we are right next to the Ruggles Station and if you’re driving, we provide parking passes to nearby garages.

Accessibility

  • REID Lab and the ISEC building are wheelchair accessible via every entrance to the building and elevators in the central lobby. The Renaissance Parking Garage and Ruggles Station are also wheelchair accessible. Please note: Northeastern station is not wheelchair accessible.

  • We have an all-gender restroom located on the first floor of the ISEC building.

  • Kids and family members are welcome! If you need to bring your kids, we are able to cover their transportation and provide childcare for the duration of your visit in our lab. Or, if you prefer to bring another trusted caregiver while you participate in the study, we have a lovely waiting room full of toys and books.

 

Directions

We are located in the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC) building located at 805 Columbus Avenue, between Mass. Ave and Ruggles St. Our lab is part of the Center for Cognitive and Brain Health on the 6th floor of the ISEC building.

By Car

If you’re driving to your visit, we are able to provide complimentary parking next door at the Renaissance Parking Garage or another nearby garage. If you prefer to use a ride-sharing service, we are able to reimburse your ride to and from our lab for your visit.

 Public transit

We are 4-min walk from the Ruggles T Stop, and 7-min walk from the Northeastern T Stop.
