Özlü Aran, PhD

Postdoctoral Scholar

Dr. Özlü Aran (she/her/hers) is a postdoctoral researcher in the REID Lab. She completed her Ph.D. in Developmental and Child Psychology with a concentration in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Denver. Previously, she received her B.S. in Psychology and M.S. in Developmental Psychology at the Middle East Technical University in Turkey and spent a year as a visiting researcher in the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota.

Özlü’s research program examines the intergenerational transmission of health with a specific emphasis on perinatal stress, health disparities, and early socioemotional development in infancy. She is committed to being an independent and strategic thinker while also examining and challenging power dynamics to support communities.

When Özlü isn’t in the lab, she enjoys doing crafts, learning to play hand percussion, hiking, watching movies, and filling her apartment with plants.
